open hands + wooden spoons

It started in a tiny apartment. “We should do this more often!'“ turned into weekly dinner parties. New recipes and new friendships were created around the kitchen table. With these friends, Open Hands + Wooden Spoons, a cooking blog, was brought to life.

Open Hands + Wooden Spoons is about making the kitchen a safe place for people to come and be served. It’s a safe place for trying new things, even if the dish burns. I wanted to keep the lines of the logo open and continuous to represent this mission well.

The colors were meant to remind you of the kitchen and its ingredients. Warm, comfortable, and inviting, just like your kitchen. I mocked up a potential website design and instagram feed, and I took photos to be used in both.
